Changes do happen

The last few months has been a mixture of a lot of things all at the same time.  I was off balance and indecisive at what to start working on.

I'm not trying to get religious or spiritual on you, but I've noticed the more times I ask for help with out feeling guilty about asking, God has made things easier for me.  I thank him daily for that blessing. (And I've learned not to be so dang stubborn)

It started out with my editor in April with a book I've been working on since I was 15. (30 years ago. Now you know my age, lol)  It was an on again off again (more off, mind you) story with a beginning, an ending and not much of a middle.  With her help of teaching and coaching, I'm no up to 180 pages.

But its been hard.  Its been hard coming up with a new character that the story needed and much more to add the story to blend him in.  Actually, in the story he was a ghost.  But now he is a real person.  So you can see the difficulty in that for changes.

What I'm grateful for this day is because my mind was flowing freely and I have filled in more empty blank spaces then I have in the last couple months.  And with that, I now have the first 3/4 of the book done so it can run smoothly and blend in with the end of the story.

You know how good that makes me feel?  I bet you do.  Thanks for reading my blabbing.

  1. Sometimes we just need to get things out (off our chest and mind) in order to let it go and be able to move forward:>) I can certainly relate but not in the perspective of a novel. I really admire you for the challenge you are undertaking. Does sound like you have it together. I have been working on my book with the publisher since February 5. Because of the nature of the book I had hoped it would come out this summer at the latest. It was first projected for spring. Now summer is coming to a close and it looks like it will be in the fall. I can't let the delay get me discouraged though because God has given me the gift and only He knows when the time is right.

  2. Hi Jeannette, My manuscript is written, edited and ready to go. It has been a long haul. I certainly understand your struggle. My problem now is - Do I keep searching for a publisher or do I self-publish? Already, I've self-published four books. They have sold extremely well. They are short stories and children's books. I'm not sure a novel will sell as easily on the one to one basis I've been using. Blessings in your work. Janet Stobie
