Okay,

Don't get me wrong.  There are lots of books and web sights that are great in helping you write, edit, publishing, etc. and etc...

But don't you get tired of seeing hundreds of books and web sights saying the same thing and they don't work?  Or being offered help but it will cost loads of money?

I can see how it goes and the feeling there is to wanting to hire someone to do the work and find you an agent or a publisher.  Or to go and do it yourself.  But when it comes down to it, no matter what you do, you always have to do self work.  And that's is the hardest part.

I'm having a tough time keeping motivated sending out quiry letters.  But if I want something done, I need to keep pushing myself to do it.

Sorry if this comment is jumping around.  It is how I feel at the moment.

 The end.

  1. I guess it's kind of like the spaghetti sticking against the wall or whatever that saying is. Some stuff works for some people and we each have to find what works best for us.

  2. Jeanette, I think you're right. Only you can push yourself and get your work out there. With all the help you choose to get, you still need to push yourself to get out there. Query letters are tough, I should know. But keep sending them out. Don't get discouraged for too long because when you keep writing, you will sell, and that's a promise. It took me eight long years of daily writing to sell my first piece of nonfiction, but I did it, and so can you!

  4. I made an observation the other day to a friend. What would you say to your child who is struggling to accomplish something or discouraged?
Would you tell him//her to give up and tell them "it's too hard, you're just not motivated"?
I hope most of us would encourage our children to keep trying because eventually, it will happen and success will be there.
As adults we sometimes forget to encourage ourselves in that same way. And trust me, I'm just as guilty!
By the way, I've read your MS. It's amazing and it will find a home!
If that's the one you are pushing.
    Hugs, young lady.
    Write on!
