Oh Boy

This blog has been dead for a long time.  Yes, I've come and typed in a comment here and a comment there (No, I won't start typing the Old McDonald Song) but when I've read what I posted?  Pretty bad. Sorry about that.

I've run into a block and haven't felt like doing anything.  Sound familiar?  Changed were made to my book and my editor has it for the final edit.  So, in the mean time I need to start working on query letters etc.  That, I believe, is harder to do than writing a book.  Do you think so too? Let me know.

I have books, papers, links, etc. on how to write the best query letter ever.  They seem to be all the same, but coming up with the open paragraph is a brain killer.

Wish me luck and visa versa to those of you doing the same thing.

Have a great and happy week.

  1. I often feel like not doing anything, but I always manage to force myself to get a blog post up. Blogging has been a great exercise for me in writing discipline.

I've never queried anything yet, but it does seem like it would be difficult and possibly very frustrating and disheartening. Good luck with your venture.

  2. Jeannette,

Blogging anything will keep you writing, so you have to make a commitment to yourself to do it at least once a week.

As far a query letters go, I wouldn't waste my time. It is difficult and frustrating and often gets you no place, which you come to realize after a couple of years go by. Why not just self publish?

  3. Hi Jeanette, my blog has suffered from the same malaise recently. October and November had a lot of family obligations and then Thanksgiving crept in... and now Christmas is coming, Oh My!
I've also been trying to edit and update my novel so I can send it out. I don't enve want to think about query letters :^\
I have put up some book reviews recently so I'm feeling a little less slouchy :)
